Attorney Salena Davis-Woods

 

Salena is a 2005 Summa Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina Central University, with degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice.  She studied abroad in 2003 at the Universidad Interncional Centre de Bilingue in Cuernavaca, Mexico.   Attorney Davis-Woods was on the Dean's list and performed over 250 hours of community service while at NCCU.  She worked at the NCCU Academic Community Service Learning Program and the  Office of Public Relations.  She joined in with different organizations, sororities and fraternities in organizing a 2 mile walk to the poles for the national, state and local elections in the fall of 2004.  She was a member of the NCCU branch of the NAACP, Student Government Association Senior Class Treasurer, Political Science Club, Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, Criminal Justice club and was Miss NCCU NABCJ (National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice) 2004-2005.    


She continued her education to North Carolina Central Univeristy School of Law, graduating in 2008.  She practiced as a Assistant Public Defender in Mecklenburg where she honed her compassion skills in representing those who could not afford an attorney.  She has owned and co-owned her law practice since 2011 and has been an active member of Delta Sigma Theta since 2004.


Her passion is to help those through the most difficult times of their lives. Her love of others and her community is shown through her activism and community service.  She has two sons who keep her grounded and focused.
